A tour through Bristol Robotics Laboratory
A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to make a very detailed tour through the Bristol Robotics Laboratory guided by David and I think I have seen the future. I have not been to a place before where robot technology, intelligent autonomous systems and bio-engineering were so concentrated together.
Robots were everywhere: from toy robots to surgical robots from miniature robots to big industrial robots. It was like a robot paradise and, as most of these robots need some kind of electro mechanical actuation system, it was a motor paradise for me as well.
It was also fascinating to see that people from all over the world from students to PHD’s were working together in interdisciplinary teams.
I know that some of the ideas and projects the people at Bristol Robotics Laboratory are working on will disappear into a drawer but I am sure that some of them will be part of our daily life in the not too distant future.
